There’s an old adage that "Facts Tell and Solutions Sell." That’s really good advice to anyone designing a business Website that could turn into a money-making machine.
Okay, you’ve got your business website up and you’re attracting visitors, but they aren’t buying anything. What should you do?
When potential customers land on your site are they looking at dry, boring facts and pictures about your company and product? If so the average visitor will leave your site in 10 to 20 seconds if they don’t find or see what they are looking for. And they are gone forever . . . another missed opportunity down the drain.
So what are potential customers looking for?
It’s simple, it’s easy and can be explained in one word . . . . “solutions.” That’s right “solutions to their problems.” If your copy doesn’t speak to that issue right from the git go . . . chances are you’re going to lose that prospect.
Let me put this in perspective by repeating an old cliché: “Nobody who buys a drill wants a drill . . . . they want a hole.” Simply put, that means your copy should provide information about solving their problem(s) and not facts or information about the product or service itself.
The key steps to developing a sizzling hot sales presentation:
The first step in developing your sales presentation is to try to get inside the mind of your potential customer by asking yourself, “What information do they need to make a decision today, right now in order to make the purchase. Consider the following steps:
1. List the questions that need to be answered by the prospect. Once you have that list, then put the questions in order of importance or in priority in the mind of your prospect as best as you can determine.
2. Next, write your answer to their questions keeping in mind you’re selling benefits and not sales features.
3. When writing your copy pretend you are talking to the prospect on a very personal, one-on-one basis.
4. Determine which question and benefit is most important to the prospect and use that copy as your lead heading.
5. Take the second most important Q and A and write the sub-heading.
6. Make sure your first paragraph copy addresses an important benefit to pull the prospect into the body of your copy.
7. Write copy for each prospect question to sing the praises of the benefits they will receive from your product or service.
8. In the closing make sure to ask for the order at least 2 or 3 times.
9. Remember to include a money-back guarantee if you can as this will give the prospect the confidence to sign up and will result in more orders.
10. Offer a free premium if they sign up now such as an e-booklet download.
11. Make sure to design a bounce-back letter that goes out after the prospect signs up, thanking them for their business.

A Key Reason Business Websites Fail is Poor Copy Writing.
When writing copy for your site take time to identify your Unique Selling Position (USP) because it’s the most valuable asset you own. It’s your product’s most persuavive and powerful benefit which answers why potential customers should buy your product from your company.
Ideally, your USP should be unique, something your competitor doesn’t offer and hasn’t thought of yet; and when featured as the lead headline on your site, your potential customers should think, “Wow, that’s amazing”! But remember to always write a sub-heading and make sure it’s the second most powerful benefit of buying your product.
Your copy should be full of benefits to buying your product or service and providing solutions to the buyers’ needs. Make sure to write small paragraphs with only 1, 2 or 3 sentences for easy reading and to retain attention. Long paragraphs cause potential buyers to lose interest and become distracted.
Always remember to ask for the order not only in the closing, but throughout the copy at least 3 times. Make it easy to sign up for your offer. Provide testimonials, a money-back guarantee, an additional free premium for signing up now and set up credit card arrangements through a source like PayPal or ClickBank.
